Job Summary

To minimize risks, protect the Bank’s assets, ensure the accuracy of records, promote operational efficiency and encourage adherence to policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure Strict adherence to policies and procedures. 

2. Develop Control and Compliance policies/frameworks, procedures, programs, and Manuals in line with current trends to mitigate risks. 

3. Ensure continuous review and assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of policies, procedures and processes and identify improvement in order to strengthen controls where applicable. 

4. Manage work/activities with risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations and other control related activities in line with the Bank’s objective and strategy. 

5. Define the Strategic direction for the Internal Control function which aligns with the overall objective and strategic goals. 

6. Monitor the application of policy to ensure that all divisions, departments and units adhere to the approved policies, regulations and standard operation as set by management and regulators. 

7. Coordinate, conduct regular reviews to ascertain, verify and confirm if the respective Departments in the bank follow and adhere to the approved internal control procedures. 

8. Coordinate, evaluate the business' recovery procedures for operational disruptions and maintain communication with the Management. 

9. Coordinate, prevention of fraud and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. 

10. Coordinate, and report to the Managing Director on all controls and compliance issues as they arise for prompt actions to be effected. 

11. Coordinate and test systems controls to verify effectiveness and efficiency before and after implementation. 

12. Coordinate and Identification of system modules which are not functioning properly and proffer recommendations for its resolutions. 

13. Any other duties/task assigned by the Managing Director.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Education: Minimum qualification of BSc. Or HND in Accounting or a relevant field. 

Experience: Minimum of three (5) years of work experience..
